We live Steamboat. We LOVE Steamboat.

IV Therapy, What is it?

Steamboat Springs has an abundance of outdoor activities and entertainment. The town plays host to some of the best outdoor adventure opportunities the world has to offer, not to mention its thriving food, drink, and entertainment scene. While these activities are amazing, they’re also a recipe for dehydration and sickness. At this altitude, it doesn’t take long to dehydrate yourself while enjoying all the fun Steamboat has to offer. When we get worn down, our immune systems can’t function properly, and we get sick. Then what? We are stuck inside and can’t enjoy this beautiful place!

Enter, IV Therapy…

IV therapy is a low risk, minimally invasive procedure safely administered by registered nurses under the supervision of a physician. IV therapy delivers fluids and nutrients directly into the blood stream, bypassing the digestive system. This enables the body to absorb 100% of the IV’s fluids, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. The body’s digestive system typically burns 70-80% of a vitamin pill’s potency, therefore therapy is the fastest, most efficient delivery method to distribute vital fluids and nutrients throughout your body.

The entire IV therapy process takes about one hour. After your complete health history is reviewed and vital signs are taken, a nurse will start your IV in your arm. If you aren’t a fan of needles, don’t worry! The process is only 1 second of discomfort for days of feeling great! After the IV is in place, you sit back and relax in a calming spa-like environment.

What is in the IVs bags, you ask? Vitamins and nutrients! The same ones you get from food only with a 100% absorption rate. Nutrients like magnesium, vitamin C, B-vitamins, B-12, glutathione (the master of all antioxidants!), calcium, and zinc are added to a liter of hydrating fluid. Because we are bypassing the GI tract, the effects are typically felt within the first hour of treatment and can continue for up to 5 days after.

Whether you are feeling awful or amazing, therapy will make you feel better. IVs are great for combating altitude sickness, hangovers, dehydration, stress, fatigue, minor colds/viruses, lack of energy, and so much more! IVs can also boost athletic performance and recovery, boost immunity and provide you with a healthy glow any time of year.
