Happy almost Thanksgiving! Whether you’re a seasoned local or just visiting for the holiday, we have everything you need to know to have a great long weekend in Steamboat Springs. Here are a few of our best recommendations – see you out there!
Thursday, Thanksgiving Day
Earn your Thanksgiving dinner and start off the day with the Turkey Trot! This annual 5k is an out-and-back course that starts at the high school. You can register in advance here or sign up the day of…race starts at 9:30 sharp!
And, if you’re still looking for a place to land for Thanksgiving dinner, check out our post here.
Friday, November 29
If you’re not too busy shopping the Black Friday sales in preparation for the holidays, head to Howelsen Ice Arena where you can skate for free from 2:00 – 3:45 pm.
You’ll end up ready for happy hour – our recs? Aurum Food and Wine or Table 79 for fun cocktails and great snacks.
Once you’re fueled up, you can head to the Courthouse lawn for the annual tree lighting at 6 pm (featuring free cookies and hot chocolate too!). Now we’re in full-on holiday mode.
Saturday, November 30
It’s small business Saturday and there is no better place to be than Steamboat where Lincoln Avenue and beyond has an amazing array of local shops and small businesses to choose from. Check out Chrysalis for trendy women’s clothing, F.M. Light & Son’s for all things Western, and of course, don’t forget the local’s favorite, Ohana, for handmade gifts and screen-printed tee’s.
Bored of leftovers? Luckily Steamboat has a wide array of cuisines to choose from – head to Fiesta Jalisco for margs and tacos, O’Neil’s Tavern for classic Irish pub food or How Ya Doin Pizza for a big old calzone.
Sunday, December 1
Did you shop til you dropped? Whether you’re heading back home or hibernating at home, we hope you travel safely and had a great time this weekend in Steamboat!
